Both Mono and Stereo LP’s can be found with grooved and non-grooved labels. This indicates that mono records were pressed up to the end on the 60’s. No other differences are existing.

The sleeves first printed had a shadow under the album title, usually called the “shadow cover”. The cover can be found with several different labels on the records. Decca had no process of “first in – first out” so the cover was mixed with the non-shadow version and used randomly during 1966 For some reason, the shadow under the album title was quickly removed. The title was printed without the shadow for the rest of the lifespan of the LP.

The shadow can be found only on mono sleeve.

Please note that fake “shadow covers” were on the market in 2019. They are easy to detect if you do your homework and study this page carefully before purchasing a shadow sleeve.

Some of the early sleeves made after the correction of the shadow has a spill over of red colour on the letter T. The red colour can also be visible on the lower part of a few other letters.

Mono and stereo catalogue numbers on the front of the cover.

The “shadow cover” had also a minor design difference on the back cover. Only the Shadow covers seems to have the MONO LK4786 text split into two lines whereas the non-shadow covers have the information on one line. All Stereo albums have the same design on the back cover.

Some mono covers can be found with a small "mono LK 4786" on the back side. These covers were exported to The Netherlands and can most of the time be found with Dutch pressed Aftermath records. Some covers have been found with UK pressed records as well.

One reprint / correction is existing. This is originally a Mono cover but changed into a Stereo cover just by covering the Mono number and adding the Stereo number. This is probably done in the late 60’s when the sales of Stereo albums had taken over. They probably had a lot of extra Mono covers in stock and they did not want to throw them away.
At least two copies of the same correction have surfaced in Holland with Dutch stereo Aftermath LP’s inside. This may indicate that this reprint was done in Holland and not in UK.

All covers with the big Mono or Stereo on the back side have "Printed in England By Robert Stace" text on the back cover.

Lots of label version are existing. Again because of the big number of records pressed. Here are a few of them. Mono LP’s have so far been found only with the non-boxed label and Stereo LP’s can be found with both non-boxed and boxed labels.
